National SRO Appreciation Day was February 15, 2025. The SRO assignment is unique within the law enforcement profession. These sworn law enforcement officers fill a three-part role, serving as informal mentors or counselors, law educators, and law enforcement officers to support the students and communities they serve. They are valuable and essential members of the education community who deserve unwavering respect and support from the public in the pursuit of keeping schools and students safe. Deputy Benes is an invaluable asset to our school and we appreciate the work he does to bridge the gap between law enforcement and our youth to keep our school safe!
Hey, Bobcats! Check out the special donation that Kevin McNulty presented to the Board of Education at their regular board meeting Monday. Mr. McNulty donated framed pictures of the elementary school building and Board resolution that were dedicated to his father, Owen V. McNulty at his retirement party in 1985. Owen was a long-time Whiteford Superintendent and lifelong teacher.
Congratulations to Jon Scheffer, HS Math Teacher, who was recognized at Mondays Board of Education meeting as January Staff Member of the Month. Mr. Sheffer was nominated by Jeremy Simmons for being someone that can relate to our students and the respect they have for Mr. Sheffer is genuine. Meghann Borgelt of the Leski Wittman Insurance Agency presented Jon with a $100 gift card.
